It does have the look of some of the older paintings. There could actually be a whole story behind it, since it looks like it should be hanging on a wall, it could be part of a whole elf dynasty or something. Nifty twist to the genre there.
What I'm wondering is how you got all the groundwork done on for it, meaning, the design, time period and painting style. You have to get some things figured out before just setting paint to page. I guess that's just art. Looks good.

I think it's the lighting of good classical paints and the soul-full looks of the people portrait in them. The subtle change of hues or the contrast.
This is great, good tribute.
